The Laboratory for Research and Development of Methodologies for Heavy Oil Characterization (LabPetro)is part of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), founded in 1954 and now comprising four campuses. IT Offers 90 Programs and Serves 20,000 Undergraduate Students.
Challenges
LabPetro’s Equipment is Highly Sensitive and Cannot Be Exposed to Power Surges. Some devices that require continuous operation take two to three days to restart and stabilize after being shut down due to a power outage. ups systems are used to prevent shutdowns and avoid significant losses, as such interruptions cannot be justified or absorbed within research cost.
Project
LabPetro has been an engetron partner for ten years. It currently operates around 30 UPS Units Ranging from 5 KVA to 40 kVA, used to ensure the operation of advanced equipment such as X-Ray, Mass Spectrometry, Low-field and high-field systems, all dedicated to Petroleum Research. Examples include three 10 kva Engetron UPS Units for Instrumentation; Two 10 KVA Units for Physicochemical Analysis; One 10 KVA Unit for Polymers; Two 10 KVA Units for Characterization; and one 5 KVA Unit for the Water Laboratory.
Benefits
The quality of engetron’s ups systems ensures power autonomy for the equipment, even in cases of interruptions in the electrical supply. This allows labpetro to carry out its research with operational stability and guaranteeing power, preventing losses that would commit both timelines and cost.
“Engetron stands out for the excellent quality of its equipment and services, as well as its very strong customer support, which serves us exceptionally well. The local partner is always ready to assist us whenever needed. I recommend the company.”
